Established in 2002 as an initiative of UCLA’s Graduate School of Education & Information Studies, The Sudikoff Family Institute conveys the work of GSE&IS faculty to policy makers, educators, and the general public.
By identifying a connection between academic research and its application in the real world, the Sudikoff Institute aims to share the expertise of UCLA’s Education and Information Studies faculty by bringing “knowledge that matters” to a public audience.
The Sudikoff Family Institute for Education & New Media was created through a generous gift from philanthropists Jeffrey & Joyce Sudikoff, who have served as long-standing supporters of UCLA and its Graduate School of Education & Information Studies. The Sudikoff Family Foundation has contributed more than $2.3 million to foster the work of the GSE&IS, including an endowment of $1.5 million for the establishment of The Sudikoff Family Institute for Education & New Media.
The Sudikoffs have also provided significant contributions for the support and advancement of UCLA’s Lab School, formerly known as the Corinne A. Seeds University Elementary School (UES), including the creation of its Art Studio. Additionally, Jeffrey Sudikoff gave generously of his time to serve as the first Chair of the UES Board of Directors.
