As nation marks Brown at 65, New research from UCLA Civil Rights Project details rise in segregation

Cecilia Rios-Aguilar, Dean for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, was interviewed by Tanzina Vega of The Takeaway, Thursday, May 16.  As the nation marks the 65th anniversary of the 65th anniversary of  the landmark Brown v. Board of Education ruling declaring segregation unconstitutional, the UCLA Civil Rights Project has published new research  detailing the rise in segregation across the nation.  In the interview, Rios- Aguilar weights in on how segregation harms not only black students, but Latino students that are increasingly segregated in our public schools.
