UCLA Center for Community Schooling, LAUSD, UTLA Form New Consortium of Community Schools

The UCLA Center for Community Schooling is partnering with the Los Angeles Unified School District and United Teachers Los Angeles to establish a new Consortium of Community Schools to elevate exceptional local community school practices across the school district. The project will document, share and promote the practices of exceptional community schools with other schools. To advance the effort, six existing LAUSD community schools have been invited to serve as critical learning sites that can inform efforts to expand the community school strategy. The Consortium project will provide an opportunity for participating schools to identify, study, and share a community school strategy that has been key to its school’s growth and progress. The work will integrate with the existing research-practice partnership between the Los Angeles Education Research Institute (LAERI) and the Los Angeles Unified School District. More information about the Consortium of Community Schools can be found here.
